Our consultants have carried out Hotel Risk Assessments in more than 30 countries worldwide including: UK & Europe, America & Canada, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Asia, Far East and Australasia.

ISS risk assessments are comprised of the following elements; Fire Safety, Kitchen & Hygiene Safety, Pool and Water Safety, General Safety.

Fire Safety Assessment

The assessment includes a comprehensive risk based analysis of the hotels fire precautions and means of escape in case of fire.
This will include an examination of all aspects of:

	Fire training
	Emergency lighting
	Emergency signage
	Fire fighting equipment
	The fire alarm system
	Staircase layout and fire protection
	Fire safety of entertainment areas, disco-areas and atrium
	Fire safety of all hotel services, air conditioning, heating and ventilation etc

Hygiene Assessment

A comprehensive examination of all aspects of kitchen hygiene management including

	HACCP based kitchen management and control systems and records
	Receipt and storage of food.
	Food controls, preparation, hot and cold holding.
	Premises control, infestation and pest control, cleaning programs.
	Staff training, health screening, staff hygiene facilities.
	Kitchen layout and flow issues.

Pool and Water Safety

Assessment of swimming pool safety including

	Pool safety features and safety management.
	Pool safety signage
	Water quality control
	Life safety and rescue facilities
	Childrens pool safety
	Safety assessment of any jacuzzi’s, water slides/flumes/water parks.
	Pool contamination control.

General Safety

Assessment of general Safety aspects of the hotel including:

	Balcony safety and construction
	Safety of all public areas, restaurants, bars, casino’s etc
	Safety and control of children’s indoor and outdoor facilities, crèche and play areas.
	Guest security
	Medical facilities and procedures in case of accident or illness.
	Safety control of beach and leisure activities
	Safety of hotel vehicles used for the transport of guests.
	Emergency planning

General

At the conclusion we would offer advice on any aspect of the assessment on site and a comprehensive report will supplement the survey, drawing attention to items for attention.
